Be specific with your search. The more detail you give, the better the results. ✅ Good: "Apple AirPods 4 with ANC" or "Nike Air Max 90 white size 10" ❌ Bad: "earphones" or "shoes" Include the brand, model name, and any key details (colour, size, version) you care about.

You can search for anything: • Restaurants, "Sushi restaurants Durban open now" • Services, "Plumber near Sandton emergency" • Activities, "Indoor skydiving Johannesburg" • Menus, "Steers burger menu prices" • Accommodation, "Airbnb Ballito pet-friendly" The search works for products, food, services, activities, anything you'd Google.

Why are some results missing prices?

Accepted Answer

Some websites don't show prices publicly (e.g. "Contact us for pricing"), or the price was in a format our system couldn't read. Results without prices show "Price not listed". For the most accurate pricing, click "View on Store →" to check the retailer's page directly.

How long does a search take?

• Basic search (no stores added): ~30 seconds • With 1–2 stores: ~45 seconds • With 3+ stores + location: ~60 seconds • Compare mode: ~60–90 seconds The search checks multiple sources simultaneously, so it's faster than searching each store manually.

How do I search a specific store?

Add store names in the "Preferred Stores" field. Just type the name, no website URLs needed. Examples: Takealot, iStore, Woolworths, Checkers, Superbalist The system will search those stores directly and return results with direct links to the product pages.

Why should I add stores?

Adding stores gives you 3 big advantages: • Direct product links, click straight through to the store's product page • More accurate prices, scraped directly from the store, not from Google • Stock availability, shows "In stock", "Out of stock", etc. 💡 Tip: Add your 2–3 most-used stores for every search. It barely adds time but massively improves results.

Some stores don't return results, why?

Accepted Answer

Some stores block automated access or have complex websites that are hard to read. If a store doesn't return results: • Try a more specific search, "iPhone 16 Pro" instead of "iPhone" • The store may block scraping, not all sites allow it • The product may not exist on that store The search will still show results from other sources even if one store fails.

Why do some business listings appear higher in search results than others?

Accepted Answer

Listings are ranked by a quality score based on how complete and useful the listing is. Things that push a listing higher: • Having a direct link to the product page • Showing a clear, accurate price • Including a product description • Having a product image • Running an active deal or special Listings that are paid as ads always appear above regular results. Among regular (non-ad) listings, the most complete and well-priced ones rank highest. WiseGuy doesn't manually control rankings, it's automatic and based on quality.

What kind of filters can I use?

Filters narrow your results to exactly what you need: • Products, "300 gsm", "100% cotton", "size L", "organic" • Food, "halal", "vegetarian", "gluten-free", "sugar-free" • Services, "open now", "24 hour", "emergency" • General, "free delivery", "warranty", "in stock" You can add multiple filters, results matching all filters appear first.

How does the price range work?

Set a minimum and/or maximum price in Rands: • R0 – R50: Only shows items under R50 • R500 – R2000: Only shows items in that range • R100 – no max: Shows everything R100 and above Results outside the price range are excluded entirely, not just deprioritized.

Toggling Cheapest First does three things: 1. Sorts all results from lowest price to highest 2. Marks the cheapest result with a 🏷️ BEST DEAL badge 3. The summary tells you exactly what the cheapest option is and where to get it 💡 Tip: Combine "Cheapest First" with specific stores for the best price comparison. E.g. search "Samsung Galaxy S24" with Takealot + iStore + Incredible, cheapest first.

After every search, the system suggests 3–5 related searches you might find useful: • Search "AirPods 4" → Suggests "Samsung Galaxy Buds 3", "Sony WF-1000XM5", "AirPods Pro 3" • Search "standing desk" → Suggests "ergonomic office chair", "monitor arm", "desk organiser" Click an alternative to instantly run that search.

When you add your suburb and city (e.g. "Gillits, Durban"), the search: • Localises Google results to your area • Finds nearby store branches via Google Maps • Shows branch name, address, hours, phone number, and a Maps link 💡 Format: Always use "Suburb, City", e.g. "Sandton, Johannesburg" or "Waterfront, Cape Town"

We show what's available from public information: • "In stock", available online on the retailer's website • "Online only", only available for online purchase • "Available for delivery", for restaurants/food • "Open now", for physical businesses Note: Exact per-branch stock levels aren't available publicly for most SA retailers. The "Nearby Stores" section shows you which branches are near you so you can call or visit to check stock.

Why do some results have no "View" button?

Results from Google Shopping sometimes don't include a direct link to the retailer's product page (Google keeps users on their platform). 💡 Add stores to "Preferred Stores", those results ALWAYS have direct links because we scrape the store directly.
